YESTERDAY, TOMORROW, & TODAY


For Brina & Rissa,
And my special friends.
There are two days in every week which we should not worry about.
Two days, which should be kept free from fear and apprehension
One of those days is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares,
its faults, blunders, its aches and pains.
Yesterday, has passed forever beyond our control.


My sweet girls,
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday.
I cannot undo any pain, hurt, anger, sadness, lonliness
This happened yesterday.


None of us can erase a single word we said...Yesterday is gone and
we can't bring it back, my loves.


The other day we should not worry about is - tomorrow.
Tomorrow, with its possible adversities, its burdens,
its immense promises, and poor performances by some.


Tomorrow is beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask
of clouds, but it will rise.
We have no stake in tomorrow for it is yet unborn to us.


This leaves us only one day. Today!
Anyone can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burden of these
two awful extremities...
Yesterday and tomorrow that we will break down
It's not the experience of today that drives an individual mad
It's remorses and bitterness for something which happened yesterday,
It's dread of what tomorrow will bring.

Let me tell you about yesterday and tomorrow
Yesterdays are my past, and the past, is my history.
I cannot cross out life's experiences and carry on
as if they never existed.


My tomorrows, I am afraid of, for I relive yesterdays,
So therefore, I must live today, not looking back nor ahead,
Just taking one step at a time together with my dear girls,
My two loves, Today!
